Born Chinara Kendrick in Albany, Georgia, China Monai's journey into music began in the most unassuming way—a quiet love for songwriting and a deep connection with melody that grew from childhood. Though once too shy to share her vocal gifts, she transformed her passion into power. In 2014, she took the plunge, recording locally and collaborating with fellow artists in her city. Her undeniable talent and relentless work ethic soon caught the eye of Freebandz A&R, leading to her signing with Ugly Money Entertainment.
